A fixed-wing drone is a type of drone whose wings are fixed and do not require rotation. Fixed-wing UAVs have the characteristics of long endurance and high-altitude flight, and are widely used in surveying, geology, petroleum, agriculture and forestry and other industries.
A general fixed-wing UAV system consists of five main parts: body structure, avionics system, power system, take-off and landing system and ground control station. The body structure is composed of a detachable modular body, which is easy to carry and can be assembled and taken off in a short time. The avionics system consists of flight control computers, sensors, payloads, wireless communications, and empty batteries to meet the needs of the aircraft control system. The power system consists of power batteries, propellers, and brushless motors to provide the power required for aircraft flight. The take-off and landing system consists of an ejection rope, an ejection rack, and a parachute to help the aircraft complete ejection takeoff and parachute landing. The ground control station includes ground station computers, controllers, radios and other communication equipment to assist in completing route planning tasks and monitoring the flight process.
In addition, the common aerodynamic layout of fixed-wing UAVs is the conventional layout, that is, the horizontal tail is behind the main wing, and there are one or two critical aerodynamic layouts. This layout technology is the most mature, the theoretical research has been very complete, the production technology is also mature and stable, and its performance is relatively balanced compared with other pneumatic layouts.
